Elayna's 4th Birthday Party!

Elayna celebrated her fourth birthday today with her friends and cousins. The party went well and Elayna was SPOILED. There was about 14 kids here all together but that includes babies, so it wasn't too crazy. She got her first pair of rollerskates, some colouring stuff (of course Dora), an outdoor croquet set, playdough, and more. It was nice to see some outside stuff as I have two non-Summer birthday kids so far so they don't usually get many outside toys. She has her actual birthday on Sunday so she'll get to celebrate again at her grandparents house.

kids crafting . . .

Well I finally got some kid-friendly scissors and some craft stuff that's exclusively for the girls. They had a blast playing with them this afternoon and I think I'll have to get them a special container to keep it all in. I was so worried about giving into scissors for fear of them cutting their hair but the scissors I found cut paper no problem but nothing else - they don't even feel sharp. I'm thinking of getting some more "big-kid" activities like this for them as Chantel seems to be fine with it now too. I was always worried about Chantel not being ready for it before but Elayna has been doing crafts at story hour for the past year and a half and loves it. I should start trying to pull out my sewing when they do this during the day since I have a tonne of projects that I'd love to finish before this baby arrives.

could it be spring?

Well it's starting to look a little bit like spring - I even found some flowers at the base of our apple tree today. And the girls played outside without mittens! It's supposed to rain the rest of the week so I got them outside while I could. They loved it until Elayna realized the bugs were back too and had a bit of a panic about that. Chantel on the other hand tries to seek them out.

story time with daddy . . .

The girls love to settle down for story time with daddy in the evenings. The girls have been having daddy all to themselves on Saturdays lately as well as I've been working every Saturday. They usually go out for breakfast to somewhere with a playplace, take an afternoon nap, and then run an errand like Canadian Tire, or they go to Brad's work to wash the van and then let the girls play in the showroom (they love to explore all the vehicles in and out), or a visit to one of their aunts and uncles houses. Brad makes sure that his day off is still relaxing even with having the girls to himself all day.

sleeping beauties . . .

I couldn't resist taking pics of my sleeping gals - they just looked so cute!

Wow - March already!! Time has been flying around here lately - I don't even want to think about all that is about to happen around here with the move and baby coming. I don't even have boxes to start packing with yet. Maybe that can be Brad's Saturday job this week. Only 4 weeks left till we move and 9 weeks left in the pregnancy - aaaaaah!
