a Justin story . . .

So our little guy was being a bit fussy this morning after his nap, so I put him in the highchair and fed him lunch, gave him some baby fruit puffs, and nursed him. After that, he looked up at me with a great big grin and was content again. But through his cute little baby-blowing raspberries and grins I noticed something white in his mouth. I immediately thought thrush, and took a better look. It was a big circle of white on the roof of his mouth. It turns out it was a round shiny smiley-face sticker that he must've found from one of the girls ~ it was stuck in there upside down. I have no idea how long it was stuck, (the girls were playing with stickers yesterday!) and had to scrape it off with a plastic spoon to get it out.

Scary! Glad he didn't choke on it! I had it once with Jeffrey when he was about 14 months, I turned around while chopping cauliflower and noticed him turning blue...turned out he wasn't choking on cauliflower like I first thought, but had a piece of plastic from a kid's book covering his airway!

Glad that you are alert enough to notice it and that sticker is just up there, not messing around in his airway.

Totally impressed that you found that and even more impressed that you were able to get a picture of it. He's so cute... of course I'm partial to boys named Justin :)

There's a lot that kids can do with stickers, but I would never have thought about the roof of their mouth!
I'm amazed that you you could get such a good shot of the inside of Justin's little mouth.

Just a bit scary after the show that we saw on a little girl who swallowed the same thing and it got stuck in her larynx and she had to have surgery to get it out. So glad that you found it. Quite the picture as well.
