A really fun day and a brush with cartoon fame!
So yesterday was Brad's second Saturday working since the big days-off switch and again we found something fun to do for the day. (Last Saturday we went to a big anniversary thing at a local toy store where the girls got their faces painted and a clown made them balloon flowers - no, I am not that talented with face paint). Yesterday we went to a Kids Fair in Cloverdale where the girls got to meet and greet with Clifford, Dora, and Diego - wow, were they excited! I think even Alyssa recognized Dora as she kept looking up at her. There were also tonnes of vendors, free food samples, draws, shows, and animals. The girls loved the baby chicks, turtles, and even petted a snake (maybe Elayna's getting braver? Or she really likes reptiles!). I had to include the last pic of Ed and the girls - too cute! I think he got a few looks walking around with three women, and eight kids under the age of 5.

Now that I crawl . . . I can also get stuck!
And this is the loaf of bread I made last night. I used to use my breadmaker here and there but it always turned out a little too crusty and uneaten and then the machine broke. Then recently I picked up a breadmaker off of cheapcycle but for some reason the baking cycle doesn't work properly and it looks like a hard doughy mess when done. So instead I used the dough cycle and then baked it in the oven - problem solved! The crust is soft, the bread tastes better than store-bought and my house smells amazing. I think I found my new favorite toy. I now have plans to make cinnamon raisin bread, cheese bread, and try some of my epicure spices like cheese chive and bacon bread, etc, etc.

a busy weekend . . .
After a busy weekend - Brad had Sat & Mon off - so I guess it felt busy since it was so long, I am finally settling into my new week. I hope to finish off a couple sewing projects, get some more done on an auction quilt, and get my house back in order. I'm also looking forward to my day off on Saturday - a full day of scrapbooking at a Scrap n' Craft.
This past weekend, Brad's brother Rob came for a visit. We had a pretty packed weekend and among some of the stuff we did Brad took Rob golfing, out to watch a hockey game, and as a family we went to Science World yesterday. The girls loved it and keep asking to go back again - too bad we forgot the camera.

TRAMPOLINE!
We got an excellent deal off of Craigslist on a trampoline and Brad set it up last night for the girls. They have been spending most of the day outside and enjoying our lovely sunshine and their new toy.
Life with little kids . . .
Language of 3 and 5 year olds:
*polka dots are pronounced "polka nuts" and don't bother trying to correct that one!
*chicken pox are a type of cereal and they were disappointed that we didn't have that kind.
*the sides of cereal boxes are called "walls"
*ponchos are called "pawnshops" and Chantel is quite proud that she has two pawnshops!
I know there's many more . . . I just have to start writing them down!
And I had to share this cute pic of Alyssa. I was busy unloading/loading the dishwasher and after rolling/crawling around the floor for a bit, she settled on her back totally relaxed and just watched me. Then when I pulled out the camera, she nicely spit out the soother and gave a wave. And because I have digital and took lots of pics, the flash went off a few times - and she was just blinking like crazy afterwards from the flash like she was experiencing the light when your eyes are closed; it's so cute that they figure these things out.
